About Northline
We rent storage the way we'd want it rented to us.
Northline Self Storage is a family business with six buildings between Brooklyn Park and Woodbury. No private-equity owner, no regional call center — just managers who live near the buildings they run and plow the lot before you wake up.

How we got here
Forty units, one snowblower, and a phone that actually got answered.
In 2009 Dave and Marta Lindquist bought a half-empty warehouse on Zane Avenue because the storage place they'd used during their own move never picked up the phone. They cleaned it out over a winter, framed forty units, and handed out their cell number to every renter.
Sixteen years later that cell number still rings — it just forwards to whichever manager is closest. We've added five buildings since, and each one was bought or built because a neighborhood asked for it, not because a spreadsheet did.
Why we're here
Storage shows up in the messiest weeks of a person's life — a move, a divorce, a death, a business finally outgrowing a garage. Our job is to be the one part of that week that is simple, honest and warm.
- Quote the real price, including the month you move out.
- Answer the phone in three rings during office hours.
- Keep the building clean enough to store our own things in it.
What makes us different
Four things we've never traded away, even when it cost us a rental.
One family, not a fund
Northline has never been sold. The people who set the prices are the people you'll meet in the office.
Managers who live nearby
Every manager lives within six miles of their facility. They know which aisle floods and which door sticks in January.
No fee theater
$0 admin fee, no deposit, no mandatory insurance. The number on the website is the number you pay.
Ten days' notice, always
Month-to-month means month-to-month. Tell us ten days out and we prorate what's left.
How we treat people
Our whole service philosophy fits on an index card.
- 01
Walk them to the unit
Nobody rents a size from a chart. We open three doors and let you decide in person.
- 02
Say the hard number first
Rate increases get a letter 45 days out with the reason written in plain English.
- 03
Never upsell in a crisis
If a 5x10 fits, we rent the 5x10 — even when the 10x10 is sitting empty.
- 04
Fix it the same day
A stuck door or a dead light is a same-day call-out, not a ticket in a queue.
Buildings & security
What 'clean and secure' actually means here
