What household storage covers

Household storage is simply a unit sized and set up for the contents of a home: furniture, boxes, appliances, seasonal gear and the things that don't have a room yet.

It's the most common reason people call us. Most households land on a 10×10, keep it for five to nine months, and switch between climate-controlled and drive-up depending on what's going inside.

Why people choose it

Right-sized, not upsold

We'll open three doors and let you pick. If a 5×10 fits, we rent the 5×10.

Move-in the same day

Rent online in about nine minutes and your gate code arrives before you finish loading.

Carts, dollies and wide doors

Free flatbeds and appliance dollies at every entrance, plus wardrobe boxes in the office.

Climate when it matters

Store the sofa and the photos in climate, and the mower in drive-up. Two units, one gate code.

Prorated move-out

Tell us ten days out and you only pay for the days you used.

Managers who help you plan

Bring a room list and a manager will tell you the size honestly, before you rent.

Is this the right pick?

Yes, if…

  • Your closing dates don't line up
  • You're renovating a kitchen, basement or whole floor
  • Two households are becoming one
  • You're downsizing and need time to sort
  • You're staging a home for sale
  • The garage stopped fitting a car three years ago

Maybe not, if…

  • You need a vehicle, RV or boat spot — see those pages
  • You're storing business inventory with deliveries — business storage has receiving
  • You need someone to pack and haul for you; we rent space, not movers

Quick answers

What size do I need for a two-bedroom house?
A 10×10 fits two bedrooms of furniture plus 25–30 boxes with the mattress standing on edge. If you have a sectional or a treadmill, step up to a 10×15.
Should I pay for climate control?
Through a Minnesota winter or summer, yes for furniture, electronics and anything paper. For outdoor gear and tools, drive-up is fine.
Do you sell boxes and packing supplies?
Every office stocks boxes, wardrobe cartons, tape, mattress bags, furniture pads and disc locks at cost-plus pricing.
Can I change unit size after I move in?
Yes. Transfers within the same facility are free and don't restart your lease — managers do them the same day when a unit is open.
Do I need insurance?
It's not mandatory. Many homeowner and renter policies already cover stored goods; check yours, and we can point you to a low-cost plan if it doesn't.
How much notice do I give when I move out?
Ten days. Tell your manager, sweep the unit, take your lock off, and we prorate the rest of the month back to you.
